I had a couple problems with the Mk I version. Tying in the hackle tips splayed, and keeping them aligned, is not easy. A lot of times, the hackles twist. Also, it's rather wasteful. I realized that I could just strip some hackle barbs from the shaft and tie that in as a tail.

I haven't had a chance to fish it yet. It might be to late in the season; I'll have to wait until Spring for the Sandbass (White Bass to most folks) to run upriver.
