A buddy of mine asked me if I could come up with an imitation of a Trout Magnet with a White/Chartreuse plastic body. Here's what I came up with:

1/80th head, size 12 hook. Chartreuse saddle hackle tips, tied splayed, chartreuse krystal flash, and white ostrich herl for the body.

My buddy says the fish in his waters absolutely kill it. I tied up a couple for myself, and will fish this under a weighted float, and twitch it back. Once the rig hits a current seam, White Perch and Sandbass (White Bass) kill it!

Good looking jig. I tie a lot of 1/80 jigs using ostrich herl for the body. Makes a great little jig for many different species and there are many colors to pick from. Using materials that are used for fly tying on jigs really is interesting to work with and the same goes the other way also. Micro jigs are like working with a bead head fly, unlimited to what can be done with them.

StumpHunter, that's the honest truth right there! I've seen some nice stuff online and in magazines. I'm beginning to come up with my own as well.
