Mantis Jig

I came up with this pattern in January of this year. I had been tying a soft hackle fly pattern, and thought that if I changed the hackle feather to something a little "softer", it might make an interesting jig.

Pictured here is my pink and white version that I did for a friend. The original is Olive, with some brown Chinese heck hackle.

I should have mentioned that this is tied on a 1/32nd oz tube jig. The Crappie around here like them!

How big of a hook is that? You just gave me a idea. Tying tails on my tube jigs before inserting them into a tube!

Have some 1/16th on #2 red sickles but I need to pour up some 1/32nd on #4 and #6 black sickles and give those a try.
