I tied these Poison tails up this morning after getting some from chill. Main problem with them is I got paint inside the weedguard hole and guards wouldn't fit without modifications. Really like how the 1/8 white turned out after a bit of creativity. The single wire guards don't go with them but I made a mini q-tip rolling cotton fibers to one end, added a couple drops of super glue to the cotton end and stuck it in the hole and it fit perfectly. Second group is 1/8 and the last two groups are 1/4 with weed guards that I had to remove some strands.

This one is a 3/16 football swing jig that I tied on a Gamakatsu 1/0 offset worm hook.. I tied others like this on a 30 degree jig hook but stopped at the bend on those. I continued wrapping this one to the hook eye and I think it looks a lot better this way. View attachment 5View attachment 6

I have the same issue with the poison jig head with the paint. I take a 1/8 or 9/64 drill bit in my cordless drill and set it on the slow setting. It cleans them out perfectly. I also set my guards with epoxy. Must be the time of year for them, I been tying 1/4 oz poison's and 1/4 bullets all evening tonight.
By the way those look really nice!

Maybe the following will be of some help.
I like to use "Wire" instead of "Fiber" for weed/snag guards.
Shown are Using a leader sleeve, wire insulation and a Skirt "band" to hold the wire in place and to prevent much flow of lead into the cavity for the weed guard .... This is strictly a "Mold It In" way of doing it..

JSC, I think you did a great job on those, really like how they turned out. I think I might order some Teflon base pins so I can paint them with the pins inside. Barlow's has them but right now I'm not needing anything else and hate to pay higher shipping and handling then the item cost. If anyone is ordering from Barlow's soon if you get the Teflon pins for me I'll make it worth your while. Thanks everyone for your comments. I might end up ordering this mold.

Jim my fault I thought you might have had some I have some extra pins I bought off cadman before Barlow jumped on the bandwagon. I'll get you some on the way. It makes pouring and painting alot easier.

Good idea on the rattle chill, I'll look for some that are around here somewhere and thanks for the pins. Thanks again for the comments everyone. It helps to keep me creative and not stuck on one thing. Always looking to make secret bait.

In a pinch you can use wooden dowel rods to pin the heads . Being frugal that is all I use . LOL
Great job on all the jigs . Destined for the mouth of great fish . WE HOPE!!!!
