It's been a long, cold winter here. Ice has been on the lakes since the end of December and it's still on. The weather forecast is finally starting to look up and I've been tying up a few to pass the time . Here's some that I did this past few days. Some float n fly jigs and some boolies, mainly 1/16 and 1/32. View attachment 1View attachment 2View attachment 3

Quack quack! Excellent work, sir.... as always. Kinda hard to steer away from those duck jigs when they work so well, isn't it?

Thanks everyone. Winter has been here way to long. I added two hobbies to keep busy. One working with resin molds and recently started rock tumbling after buying two tumblers, rocks, grit and everything else. It's supposed to be in the 60's by early next week so might knock some holes in the ice around a local lake dock Saturday.. I'm not standing on the ice though. Those duck jigs have been awfully good to me over the years and tied some 1/64 darts with #10 sickles tonight. Probably have enough to last about 150 years.

Nice work Jim, as always. I need to get busy tying myself. Think I'll try some of that duck flank myself.

Lake's here are finally ice free. It got up to 82 today. It's 70 degrees here right now and is supposed to snow starting around 3 am. That's a big drop in a short time. Crazy weather but at least tested a few baits today. As usual, a 1/64 duck jig on a dart head accounted for most of the fish, mostly gills up to 8 inches. I didn't catch many but it was great to get out.

You sure you don't live in Texas? Sounds like Texas weather!
