Tied a few tonight using some hackle I recently got. Other than for buggers or making collars I've never really used hackle too much so I'm trying to teach myself.

1/32#6 Paint: HF White with 3mm gold eyes. The tail is a blue/grean barred soft hackle that is Palmered. I think I really like these!

1/32 #4 Paint: Red NP Green/white NP eyes. Same Barred hackle just tied a feather tip on each side.

Painted this Head awhile back and forgot about it. Not sure of the type of head. (found it) 1/8 I believe. Paint: Pink tinted NP clearcoat with red glitter. Tail: Blue hackle from a cape I got. (Package labeled "Saltwater?") Really not sure what pink stuff is. Kinda like marabou but different. (Chickabou maybe):head_scratch:

I sure do like hackle but I am still moderately confused of what kind is what and its uses:head_scratch: I'm getting there though.

Around here hackle, buck tail , marabou is about all you need to tie with. Anything else is considered mostly a novelty .I'd say your on the right track . Time to take'em fish'in .

Looking good Andy. I really like the top jig, good work with the hackle. Keep in mind that good soft hackle makes a very good collar on flies. Keep up the fine work you been doing. :)

I haven't got them wet yet but I imagin the action will be good. If I get my mowing work done before dark I might go give em a dip in the pond.
