Recently started cutting some craft nylon yarn into pieces about 1/8" or 3/16" and seperating the fibers some in a small bowl. I also save any cut pieces of any flash i use, and cut them into pieces around the same size. Makes for some decent ice dub alternative for next to nothing - the nylon yarn is .59 for 10 yards. Also seems to keep your hook gap open a little better than using ultra chenille for the body on very small jigs.

The 3 jigs on the left are 1/32, dark olive rabbit tail, silver and green yarn mixed with various flash. I tied 1 (yes only one... duh) of these and had it with me while i was fishing over the weekend. It was a winner so i had to make a few more. Top jig is 1/32 and ones on left are 1/16 in a couple different colors.

Just some better pics of them below.....

Nice looking jigs,AF. I took up coin collecting recently and love seeing coins with the jigs. Those jigs will catch some trout and gills.

JJ1 - Thanks. Forgot to mention, but the 1/16's were actually tied with the stocker trout in mind after hearing the suggestions for more subtle colors and a bit more size. Hopefully give them a try this weekend... fingers crossed.

Crappiecrippler - :) Makes me feel a load better. Maybe throwing something fresh will bring in the hogs. Never know....

Len - Those 80's are small!!! have tied a few and think a dubbed body or hard thread body is what i would tie. Kip is another alternative to small ones like that, but sorry, i can't help with pointers with G*) D@^! kip tail. Just make sure you use thin diamater thread with any patterns that small, bulky thread closes that hook gap quick.
