Here are a few jigs I'm tying for my best friend. I was telling him about the wool and satin jigs I was reading about and learning to tie. Just like me he is pretty anxious to get on the water and try them out.

Thanks! I tied in some white satin over the wool first. It is translucent and flashy. The purple is not. It is the dull solid strands I pulled from the other direction on the white fabric then colored purple. I have some purple fabric but it is a lighter color and for these I wanted it to match the color of the heads. Bombora they are flared out a little more when they are completely dry. I don't dunk each one but I dip my fingers in water and pull the strands back before they go on the rack.

Man I really like these. I keep seeing them and wondered if there is a thread that shows how to tie them? They look great.

Andy let us know how the coloring works out!!

I haven't had a chance to go pick up some fabric markers so I tried using what I had. I found out that the sharpie markers won't work very well. I tied a couple with some satin I colored red and some white strands. I dunked em in water and hung them up. I looked at them later on and the white had turned pink which kinda surprises me with them being permanent markers. On the other hand I dunked one of the purple ones I did in water and it didnt bleed. With the purple ones I used one of my Infinity brand Metallic permanent markers. I can use these markers for now but I think Im just going to buy the colors of fabric I need and be done. :) Although I can use markers to make some multi-colored strands for some type of rainbow jigs or funky chickens or electric chickens or whatever it is the kids are calling them these days. :D

Those look sick. I've always had great luck on lures with purple accents. Lots of baitfish like shad and alewives have a purple shimmer to them. Those jigs will catch fish.
