A guy from S.C. posted a pic of some jigs he and his buddy has been using for many years while crappie fishing. They use a vinyl piece for the body. I had to tye some with a chenille body and I really like the way they look.

Those look excellent StumpHunter. Well done.

What is the weight of your pill heads and the hook size?

Also, if you don't mind, what is the color of your jig heads? I like that too!  (doubly-cool)

Pup, the jighead is 1/8 w/#2 hook, round head. If I'm going to use eyes I use pliers to make a socket for the eyes before painting. The powder paint is a custom color I mixed a few months ago. I thought I had added it to the powder paint mix thread but I didn't, will add it there.
I used Harbor Freight powder paint. 1 part matte black--2 part yellow, makes a nice olive.

Great looking jigs!!!!! If you want to make them look like a mini bass jig - leave a legs a little long. Hang the legs over the top of the jig head - tie in and then put the chenille on and tie off. The legs will fall over the top of the chenille and be showing that color underneath. Have some fun with this one!!

Love the paint !

BIG DITTO there - little lighter than the olive paint i made for myself and may have to tweak mine a bit.

As said above - those make excellent bass jigs as well - will be multi species slayer........... and i like that natural color pattern too.

Thanks for the comments everyone :) I think this will be a good jig to keep in my box (if I can find more room) LOL. That Olive head has worked well on the deep crappie this winter and I'm looking forward to see what the fish think about it come spawn. I'm glad I could mix a color to share with everyone here.
