I decided to down size a little and use my light action Ugley Stik to start things out next summer for the fluke. If these can hold bottom during the drift they will work.I call these "Sissy Jigs" #1 for thier size #2 for thier colors, lol. Two out of the three best colors for fluke. They are both Ultra Minnows, one in 1/2 oz. the other in 3/4 oz. both with a wide gap Mustad 3/0 black nickle hook.Overall head color is white, with a tap, tap, tap of Hot Pink.Tied with pink marabou. Now these hooks are sharp.

I like it!!! Kinda looks like a shrimp - do they have a UV powder paint??? That for the main color with the pink and a few pieces of UV krystal flash tied down the side of the maribou. That would be killer!!

I likes 'em! What depth is the area you fish most?

I use a Tica lite action rod on the pier some times. Have hoofed flounder 20" up over the rail before. I don't get some people's thinking there......10-13ft surf rods off the pier for fish that are only a few pounds. Some are just catching coraker and spot using those big heavers. Rod doesn't even bend lol. I just don't see the fun in that.

Some places are only 10',but the majority are 50'.I'm not going to tie a bunch of these.I think the flounders teeth will tear them up pretty quick.Just wanted to try.

Nice paint jobs - both colors show good and bright. Well tied and very clean work!

Would think that 3/4oz will get you down to 50' ok if there is not much tide current. Dragging in one of those broad/flat fish would be a chore on a light rod......... sounds like a he!! of a lot of fun!!!

Yea,they are like halibut.I saw my brother in law get bitten while trying to get a 2/0 short teaser out of a dinks mouth, lol.I tied these two with pink artic fox fur to see if they stand up any better to the teeth.

They look excellent, bet they'd smack deeper water flatfish here too. And everything else. Arctic Fox definately tougher than marabou. Do you tip em with something Salty, bait or plastic?

Looks good. Someone will buy them I'm sure.
And don't overlook selling some w/o the hair, I do hundreds a year that way tied in tandem that people just want to put Gulp on it or other bait and jig away.
