Those are nice. What size blade and hook did you use? What might they weigh?

I'm thinking of possibilities for an ultralight spinning application involving tiny curly-tailed grubs and a wide wobble.

there about 1/80 oz used a size0 blade with size8 hook

Very cool idea. Looks like a killer. Is the hook glued on the underside of blade?

soldiered...i put glue to hold them steady where there so small then ran a bead of soldier over it...they hold really good.....

every site that ive ever been on my handle was slipbobber, and when i got to cdc it was taken, so now ive taken it back...

View attachment 5 To answer your question Doc, and not to steal Slipbobbers thunder... these can be made with enough room to tie. My Great Uncle James from Farlington, KS. used to make something like these and I used them as a child. Never was sure about the hook attachment. Soldering works, but a propane torch is much more effective and allows you to adjust the weight with the lead wire solder. Don't forget to flux! Made these this evening. A bit tedious, but Uncle James Always caught fish. Can't wait to try them. Some paint chipped when applying the split rings, but I did not take time to cure them. Thanks to Slip for reintroducing me to these!

lol yeah they canbe made to accept a hackle or bou...soldier holds them just fine....i got some icefisherman that wanted these so now i got them setup.....also thanks bob

My soldering technique is lacking! Resorted to the torch since you can melt nearly anything with those! We used to fish these with a tiny float and a waxworm. Not sure of the weight of these, but might be tossed with a fly rod??? Do you use them yourself, or just make them for ice fishermen? Pink Floyd Fan??

love floyd and the doors. actually the story behind the ice jigs is i was told by someone they wouldnt give me a hint on them. all i asked was what size blade? and i caught heck over it. so i thought ill teach you lol. but i am going to try them in a day or 2. the crappie hasnt started the spawn here yet in my part of wv

I've heard stories of Great Great Great Great Grandpa Doc, but never thought he would still be able to tie jigs. From what I've heard he is not really that great! They tell me he likes to catch carp and shad! And he's not very good at it. You Rascal!!!!

Just saw some of these today on a bluegill website that were made with fake fingernails. Not sure of hook attachment, could be superglue?? They were painted and looked very close to the size and shape of the blades. Thought it was a neat idea, but sure wouldn't weigh much. Would post a link to pictures but I don't know how...
