I got the name chucks by combining the chub head with duck feather body.I tied these yesterday and added the blades this morning. First picture is a 1/16 chub on a #2 sickle, blade is a #1 Sims blade that I painted. These blades are really different and were originally made back in the 60's. Somebody is making them again and I wish I knew who because I hate spending $1.50 for 10 blades. The red sickles in two pictures are short shank #2's. They have the length of a #6 but the gap of a #2,something you don't see everyday. I used some pink wood duck feathers on some 1/16 pillheads.

You my friend have the gift . Those colors and combo's are something I'd buy if I saw them in a store and I haven't bought fishing tackle in a very long time .

Thanks everyone. Fatman, the Sims blades were originally made back in the 60's and the maker ran out of business. I found them in a local bait shop and bought the remaining 40 blades they had left. Recently,I went back to buy crickets for my geckos and while looking around saw they had more. These were nice and shiny, not tarnished like the previous ones I bought. I asked the owner and he said they are being made again. I asked who but he wouldn't say. I bought a couple more 10 ct. packs of the #1 nickle for $1.49. I passed on the gold blades, they wanted $3.99 for ten of those.I figured I could paint them gold if I wanted them that color. If I could find out who's making them I'd place an order. These have a deep cup and really throw out some vibration, you can actually feel the vibration on the #1's. I'd really love some #0's.

Excellent JJ! Don't remember seeing that blade style around, but they sure should kick. Looks like the length of Indy with the cup of a Colorado.

They all look good.... the yellow pill head/pink eye in the 3rd picture has some major contrast. That one sure jumps out.

Dynamite looking jigs. You may not want to use same naming process if you ever combine pheasant and duck. I am almost positive some nit picker would complain. ;-)

I'll tell ya what, Jim... Those are awesome. The gadwall and pinks are some of the best jigs I've seen on this site for awhile. Simply beautiful.

The pink woodie flank made me laugh. The jig looks great! But I know some fly tyers that would crap a brick seeing nice wood duck being dyed.
