I'm still hitting the vice with these small hooks every chance I get. This is the latest fly tied. Damsel Nymph tied on a 2X long #12 hook. Got 12 of them ready for the box.

Looks like the Ward Bean pattern I tie as well. Nice tie!

One recommendation I'd have is to get some black bead chain to use for eyes. I use em on this pattern and many others. It'll get the fly to sink, but not like a brick like lead or brass eyes. Let's ya work it a bit slower.

I will get some of those bead chains. I keep forgetting them on each order. Heck, I seem to never have enough or the right material. It is the Ward Bean pattern. Interesting how the fly comes out. The first one I tied didn't look near as good because I wasn't using enough marabou but like other flies, once you get the first one tied you learn from it. Those eyes look a lot bigger in the pic, like to have never got them anchored down.!

Scott this is another addiction!! My tying desk has been over run and I'm now on my second cabinet.

Thanks guys for the commits.

Bead chain can be had at Michaels or Hobby Lobby type store. Just go to the jewelry section. Get some silver chain while you're there, too!

I have looked at those beads in the hobby stores but wasn't sure if you could use em. Looks like I'll be getting some new bling from the jewelry section!!! O BOY...

Yes I can smell the fish on the grill already. Extra butter and Lemon pepper on mine. That one will catch some fish for sure. I haven't done any small flies for a looong time. Guess I need to sit down and do a few for the fly rod.

The fly calls for using larva lace for the ribbing. I found some stretch magic at a craft store that is 1mm or .039 in in size that works well and is a lot better priced.
