Turtle Fly

I had a strange request for a turtle fly . Never even thought about it before . So I decided to give it a shot for the guy . The end result after chewing it over in my mind was this . It's about 3/4 '' across and maybe 1'' across the shell . Total length is 2'' . Its made to resemble a mossy back soft shell turtle . I used a foam under body and rabbit fur . 30 minutes trying to find the stuff where I left it at last . 30 more to finish . Most of that time was spent using my mustache trimmers to shape the freak'in fur so it would have the shell taper across the back . That is not as easy as I thought it would be . Next time I trim the pelt before I make the lure . DUH! on my part.

Cool turtle !! That looks very good and I can see a fish taking it. Lot of time and work but it does show in the details.

Holy crap! Ignorant to the fact fish eat turtles but something has to eat em. That is beyond amazing.
