Here are some pin and beads I'm hoping catch some trout with. My first go around with this, I'm loving it. Making my own beads and custom pins to fit. Had to try some blades on them too.

Haven't had chance to test on the water yet. In theory they should be similar. It's more weight forward that's for sure. Not sure how they'll swim, fall or swing, my little water cup doesn't tell me much in the way of current effects, long falls, ect. Sitting here thinking about it, damn I really want to water test. Might just have to record super bowl....them's prime fishing hrs, and no one 'll be on the water. Just one of those things I gotta try...never know unless you try.

They look like good ESL patterns to me. I've made a few buggy bead/pin heads for fishing in the rivers and creeks. If you go to a craft store, look for the hematite beads. The material is the ore that iron is made from, so they are heavy.

Thanks for tip on beads. Currently I have so many slinky beads I've been drilling and making pins from wire, nails are good but my access to small enough diam. nails.... we'll I don't have any small enough.

The action of this style hook/weight system is totally different. The fall is a horizontal fall 99% of the time, no matter how much slack you put in the line. Good for float fishing.

I'm not familiar with the technique, but could you use stick pin's like dress makers use? Or possibly small brads?

Yes, brads would be good if they're brass so they don't rust. Not sure if stick pins would rust. I seal/glue all wraps on shank, so I guess if I paint farther up shank of pin it wouldn't rust.

Try some .043 or .045 stainless steel wire - it's stiff and not that hard to bend into shape and you won't have to worry about anything rusting.

I'm using stainless wire and bending the end back to mash into the lead bead. Hawnjigs is sending me some samples to look at so I can get back on a jig plateform, not that these don't have their place and time.
