My version of the clown and Electric Chicken patterns with the new Herring mold. Baits are 1/8 and 1/4 oz. using 3/0 and 4/0 Mustad ultra point jig hooks. The rubber tail colors come closer in colors than any rabbit I have. Swivels are pricey and cost more than everything else combined so need to find some cheaper substitutes. I think two split rings and a roller swivel will work almost as well. View attachment 6View attachment 7View attachment 8View attachment 9

Those are very nice indeed!
A small / cheap roller swivel will work just fine. If you wanted to downsize the connection, I use the #8 spro power swivels with #1 splits.
Your jigs would be killer on Redfish.

Can pour these without the insert and can tie your swivel in after cutting the collar off. Plenty of options with this mold. Wish they had a 1/16 with these. Good price on those China swivels. Ordered some #1's last week and see how they are.

I'm thinking about cutting the lead off behind the skirt ring and tying in a wire plastic keeper. This would allow me to use a boot tail or twister tail minnow without glue.

Yeah, no point in using expensive ball bearing swivels on blades IMHO. They're not under much load. As long as they turn smoothly that's what matters.

I've ordered solid ring swivels from this seller before and I've always been satisfied with their product. I use them for almost all my fresh water fishing and I've never had the swivel fail.
