Altho I've caught a fair amount of channel cats on Boolies they seemed to prefer plastics on my last outing, so designed a combo head. 1/4 football de-collared #2 nickel prop on 1/0 Gami 604 with alternating 3.5 & 3mm plastic bead baitholder collar. Very time consuming to make - hook barbs need to be honed down enuf to slip beads over and first bearing stopper bead needs to be glued & set separately from the holder collar beads. Thanks to Mac in Tennessee for guidance on the use of Super Glue.

Thats a jolly good idea. :icon14: I still don´t really understand which of the beads are glued though. Shouldn`t all but the bearing one be fixed if the are supposed to hold the plastic?

The beads are all solidly locked together & on the shank. Tested today, the bead stack has excellent grip holding soft plastic. Unfortunately, the catfish were no longer tempted by 10 yr. old Powerbait.

Blade spin IMO is adequate with the bearing stopper bead glued to the shank, and it helps to have a solid foundation for tying or stacking additional beads.

Got a super deal on some eBay 3" Powerbait twin tail grubs to replace the stale ones.

What a cool idea that the beads hold the plastic. A nicely-constructed jig Hawn. :icon14: :icon14:
