When crappie fishing, I've opened the hook gap of small hooks (widened it) for more and better hookups. The hook shank axis remains unchanged. I don't believe that I'd want to bend the entire gap away from the axis on a j-hook. Doing so could very well change the way the hook functions physically on a hookset, particularly towards the roof and corners of the mouth. Otherwise, very nice-looking tie. ![]() |

I think it would hook and hold - maybe cant the point to the side.....
