(Tutorial) Shaggy Dub Fly
200R size 12 hook
uni-thread 8/0 olive
Black brass hourglass 3mm
purple hackle
purple krystal flash
Black Senyo's Shaggy dub
Black Az simi-seal dub

Tie on the thread to the hook point and bring the thread back to within 1/8'' of the hook eye. Tie in the hourglass.

Tie in the hackle leaving the tail the length of 1/2 of the shank past the hook bend.

Tie in the Krystal flash and bring the thread to the hook point.

Make a dubbing loop and add the Senyo's Shaggy Dubbing.

Wrap the shaggy dubbing around the hook shank for the body and take the thread to behind the eye. Add the simi-seal dubbing the the thread.

Wrap the simi-seal dubbing around the hourglass eye one turn each way in a figure 8 and two wraps behind the eye. Bring the thread in front of the eye and build the head, whip finish and add cement to the head.

Good job on the tutorial!

That is a deadly looking bug! Excellent tutorial as well.

Not familiar with those hooks..... they look very long for being a #12. Would be nice to have the extra room to play with body ties.

Russ the hooks have a light green finished and come in many different lengths. Here is the link to Green Caddis Outfitters.

Doug I seen that the 200R were straight also but as you can see the ones I have are bent down. They may have stopped making the ones I have? I was hoping they would have more of a green look to them than they have.

Here are some pics of the hooks I have. I really like the 200R size 12's, hope they get more of them in.

Here is the #12 compared to a #10. Got to remember that the size 12 hook is only 3/4'' long. In the pics the flies look a lot bigger than they are.
