Matching the local crawdads
I'd like to make a few jigs that match the local crawdad species, the signal crayfish. They have a brownish-olive body and reddish brown claws with a white patch at the hinge:

Needless to say, the usual 'crawdad orange' colors don't match the local fauna.

I've got some of Hawn's triangular jig heads that will make up the tail. So I really only need to worry about the body section, head, claws and maybe eyes/antenna. Anyone have any pattern suggestions?

Looks good Toad!!!!!!!!! My idea fell right in the crapper!!!!! I was gonna use a fly tying trick of making segmented bodies out of folded foam, but I just couldn't get it to lay right.

Ya got to glue the foam to the shank. I use pvc pipe glue ,super glue melts foam because its an acetate . Turn a cigarette but into snot.
