Walleye Spin
Sat down at the vise tonight for the first time in a long long time. It sure felt good.  Cool  Felt like i did more planning and searching for materials than tying, but did finally wrap one up.  This is a 1/8th oz tin/bis head tied with a #2 Mustad 3366 hook as a stinger.  I used an 'Arkie Spinner Jig' for the wire arm and also to attach the teaser/stinger.  Clipped it off and used the business end for the spinner attachment and the clip end to add on the teaser/stinger.  Took some crude pics on my phone.  Hopefully they show enough to get the general idea.

Really nice looking baits. I've been tying quite a few articulated baits with stinger hooks this past year. Haven't really used them but it seems when I am tying the front section I stick myself with the back so stingers seem to work on me.

RE: Walleye Spin
My thumb was actually bleeding at one point, the stinger got me too when i was trying to smooth down the craft fur once. The way it is on with the split ring, i could have actually taken it off to tie the jig but it seemed to stay out of the way using the material spring clip. Not had the chance to see how it spins yet and the weather this weekend (mainly the wind) is not going to cooperate for a late night trip.

Good idea using that arkie jig! Hope it won´t tangle, I would bring a wire cutter to the water or cut off the front hook straight away.

In case the trailer catches the line too often, try engulfing it in a bunch of bucktail as ground layer.

This is nifty. Now, I'd like to tie a long-armed safety-pin spinner to a 1/8 or even a 1/16-ounce jig to produce a light spinnerbait (blade over barb).

Nice idea AF! Smile

RE: Walleye Spin
Got out last night to try out the new jig.  Not a complete failure, but did not perform as well as i hoped.  The trailer hook only got fouled up once, and that was looped up all the way around the line.... you called it Bucho.  The bigger problem was with the soft craft hair getting down into the swivel and not letting it spin freely.  Think i either need to simply switch up to bucktail -or- bend out the spinner arm so it is more vertical.  I think the solution will be to go to the stiffer bucktail.  I really don't need all the tail movement from the softer craft hair casting at night, the spinner will get their attention.

It was a cold 35° windy windy night.  Fished from 9:00-11:00 and on the bank exposed to the wind.  At least it was warm enough to not freeze up my guides.  No bites at all on my other hair jigs or this spinner jig, but at least did not come home empty handed.  Caught a nice fat 23" female full of eggs, 2 other smaller walleye and a couple of decent bass.  I tried the hair jigs along with 2 different rapala stickbaits but only caught fish on a 4" Kalins swimbait rigged on an 1/8th oz head.  Fun night!  Going to be up at my parents house for Thanksgiving and thinking i am going to throw my gear in the car and try a Lake Erie breakwall after eating.
