RE: Night Zander Jig
Its been murky for a while but today the fish didn`t mind. 62 and 71cm, best fish so far this year. The larger one spat out an adult herring.

Yup, 28" would be a trophy walleye out my way. How much would that size zander weigh ?

Thanks! I have no idea what they weigh. We got some nice ones again today. 50, 57 and 67cm for me and 54 and 64 for my friend. I prepared some light rotatating seatrout spoons and tried them out when I got the feeling they were only stubbing their noses against the blade. Got me a fish and some contacts, but simultaniously the good size fish for my friend completely inhaled the jig so I continued with it.

75cm, a bit short of 30", my personal best so far. Gill-hooked so I kept it. That thing grew even bigger in the kitchen, dwarfing the 58cm regular kitchen size fish I caught moments earlier. Very heavy, had to bring them to the car before I continued. Today I got only 1 around 20" and counted 5 cars where usually I am surprised to see one. I will have to start thinking of something new.

Good start, it appears the population is thriving. Does the season opening correspond to the post spawn period ?
